Boeing Information Solutions provides innovative, integrated intelligence and security solutions that add value to information for its customers, including U.S. government agencies and international public- and private-sector clients. Information Solutions offers capabilities in four major market areas – secure mobility, secure infrastructure, secure applications and secure operations – providing customers with accurate and relevant answers in the fastest, most secure and most efficient way possible. The Boeing Cyber Engagement Center, in Annapolis Junction, Md., is operated by Information Solutions.
Secure Mobility provides enterprises with secure mobile, end-to-end delivery of critical information through a combination of Boeing intellectual property and strategic partnerships.
Secure Infrastructure focuses on securing high-value physical and virtual infrastructures. These solutions allow continuity of operations, providing the right information to the right people at the right time to take action.
Secure Applications includes content management and analysis, system integration and unmanned underwater systems. This enables data analysis and situational awareness for decision-making in a secure environment.
Secure Operations offers engineering services and mission management, and partners with customers to integrate, deploy, transition, operate and sustain ground systems and ground-segment infrastructure.
Five program areas harness Information Solutions’ capabilities along with Boeing’s global expertise to offer customers a distinct information advantage to fulfill their missions and prepare for future challenges.
Intelligence Systems Group (ISG) develops and integrates systems that provide advanced capabilities to intelligence community customers. ISG has specific expertise in collection planning and in information management, dissemination and analysis. The business is focused on technology development that enables robust situational awareness, advanced analytic processing and secure information sharing. Geospatial production services complement the technology development offerings through insights offered by subject matter experts in this important government sector. Among its largest customers is the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. Enabling technologies that support customers’ missions include Kestrel TAC’s knowledge management software solutions; eXMeritus’ cross-domain security solutions; information and data management software; and product suites from SMSi that include the Twister software that allows large quantities of data to be ingested, normalized and extracted, and then delivered in virtually any format to the user. These enabling technologies also support processing and signal exploitation customers, information sharing solutions, and international offerings.
Mission Operations (MO) integrates, deploys, transitions, operates and sustains satellite ground systems supporting Intelligence Community, U.S. Department of Defense, and civil and commercial customers for mission success. Capabilities include operations and sustainment of advanced intelligence, navigation, communication and space science systems such as national security, GPS II and Iridium programs. Collectively, the 1,000 dedicated Mission Operations employees provide critical round-the-clock mission management for more than 100 operational space assets. Mission Operations teams provide extensive expertise in systems, software, network and infrastructure engineering and operations located at more than 20 customer and Boeing sites and facilities.
Secure Infrastructure Group (SIG) focuses on delivering information/cybersecurity, physical/global security, and information services to U.S. government, commercial and international customers to protect border, diplomatic, energy, maritime, transportation and other critical infrastructure assets. In 2011, SIG opened the Cyber Engagement Center, a 32,000-square-foot working operations facility in Annapolis Junction, Md., that brings together security experts from across the Boeing enterprise to collaborate with customers and develop cyber solutions. SIG applies a wide range of technologies in developing advanced, efficient solutions for its clients, such as real-time network traffic and analytics software from Narus, a wholly owned Boeing subsidiary in Sunnyvale, Calif., to guard against cyber attacks and persistent threats aimed at large Internet Protocol networks, and a family of other products to provide real-time threat recognition, analysis, collaboration and response coordination.
Advanced Technology Programs (ATP) delivers innovative, end-to-end mission solutions for the U.S. Intelligence Community. Headquartered in Anaheim, Calif., ATP has approximately 500 employees throughout the U.S. who specialize in small, lightweight low-power electronics; remote unattended sensors; network communications solutions; mission planning and field support; operations support and sustainment; unmanned underwater systems; and acoustics solutions. Key programs and activities include the Echo Ranger commercial, surveying unmanned undersea vehicle (UUV); and the acoustic subsystem for the U.S. Navy's P-8A Poseidon aircraft program. Approximately three-quarters of the work performed by ATP supports classified government programs. ATP has programs in Herndon, Va., and in Anaheim, Huntington Beach and Seal Beach, Calif.
Advanced Information Solutions (AIS) is the Boeing Phantom Works organization assigned to Information Solutions that provides cutting-edge capabilities that span the entire range of the Information Solutions portfolio, ultimately responsible for breakthrough innovation that contributes significantly to the business's top and bottom lines. Focus areas for AIS are secure mobility, social networks, human terrain mapping, subsurface information dominance and advanced cybersecurity.
Information Solutions was formed in January 2011 as a division of Boeing Network & Space Systems, a unit of Boeing Defense, Space & Security. With approximately 2,700 employees, Information Solutions is headquartered in Springfield, Va., with additional locations including California, Colorado, Arizona and New Jersey.
